At 10:20 this morning Company 22 was alerted for a Residential Structure Fire on Pebble Beach Dr in East Manchester Township. Engine 22 arrived on scene at 10:26 and laid in approximately 800 feet from the hydrant. An 1 3/4 line was placed into service as the primary attack and was taken through the front door to the working bedroom fire on the Alpha Bravo corner by Chief 22-1 and FF Moffa. The fire was knocked down quickly and held to room and contents.
Thankfully the resident, who was alerted to the fire because of working smoke detectors, was able to get the other occupants out of the house and shut the door to the bedroom which helped contain the fire to the room of origin.
If you do not have working smoke detectors in your house we urge you to call our station @ 717-266-2342. We provide smoke detectors for free to our residents as part of our fire prevention and safety program. Simply put Smoke Detectors Save lives
