Hurricane Irene Brushes Mount Wolf Area

Eagle Fire Company has been preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Irene for the past few days.  Starting in Saturday morning during our semi-monthly chicken bbq, members fueled vehicles, inspected pumps and chain saws and performed inspections on all the remaining equipment.  The many volunteers at Eagle staffed the fire station with a dedicated crew starting at 5:00pm on Saturday through 5:00pm on Sunday.  Saturday afternoon a team of 4 firefighters checked each storm water grate in Mount Wolf Borough and cleaned those that were packed with leafs in preperation for the predicted amount of rain water.  Crews then headed back to the station for dinner and get everything ready for our first call.  In all Eagle Fire Company responded to 12 calls for service during the storm.  Below is a breakdown and some pictures of the event.
