Established in 1913 and located in the borough of Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania, Eagle Fire Company #1 serves the borough of Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania and the Eastern half of East Manchester Township. Eagle Fire Company #1 also provides mutual aid to surrounding companies.
Eagle Fire Company was alerted for a Residential Structure fire in East Manchester Township. We responded with Engine 22-1, Tanker 22 and Utility 22. Engine 22-1 with Chief 22-1 operating arrived on scene just after Engine 23-2 and set up to re-pump the fire hydrant to increase pressure. Personnel off Engine 22-1 headed for the structure to begin an exterior attack. The structure on fire was the old farmhouse and had recently been annouced that it would be torn down. Tanker 22 and the Utility staged on scene and the additional manpower was used for fire attack and overhaul operations. Chief 22 had the Bravo Side and later Interior ensuring that the fire was extinguished in the 2nd and 3rd Divisions. Crews returned in service at 10:01 pm. Eagle Fire Company had 10 interior firefighters and 2 exterior firefighters operating on the scene.
The Firefighter 5K held on 9/11/10 was a huge sucess thanks to everyone involved. We had over 120 runners and walkers that day and with beautiful weather it was a fantastic event. We were able to raise over $400.00 for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation! The check will be presented on the weekend of October 2nd during the memorial weekend in Emmitsburg MD. We were also able to raise over $3,500.00 to go into our equipment replacement fund for our new engine we hope to order. We have loaded the race results and the 5k website. Eagle Fire Company is proud to announce that our NEW 2010 Midwest Fire Tanker is now ready for service to help the community. This tanker replaces a tractor trailer tanker that dates back as far as the early 1950's. In addition to increased safety features, we will now have additional operators ready to answer calls.
The Borough of Mount Wolf recently celebrated it's 100th year! Along with many events leading up to this date, Eagle Fire Company hosted an Open House to display our equipment. Also on dispay was our 1951 FWD now restored by it's private owner.
Egine 22-2 was dispatched for a single vehicle accident, debris removal at 11:42pm. Chief 22 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle struck a cement block barrier in the front of a residential home. No injuries were reported. Engine 22-2 provded fluid control and traffic control. Box was placed in service at 12:39am. A total of 7 volunteer personnel responded to the incident.
